Organization: World Bank funded project (Marshall Islands Government) Position: Climate Change Adaptation Specialist Duty Station: Majuro, Marshall Islands Deadline for Application: 29 May 2020

Experience Requirements: A tertiary qualification (degree, diploma or certificate) in Climate Change Adaptation OR a relevant discipline • Strong experience in climate change adaptation, adaptation planning, or similar areas, preferably in small island developing states • Skills and relevant experience in defining and applying practical adaptation measures at the local level in a developing country environment (previous experience in low-lying atoll nations / remote environments desirable) • Skills in mentoring local Government and NGO staff in a developing country environment in preparing and writing material • Experience in preparation of reports and strategic plans for climate change adaptation or resilience, or equivalent • Excellent English writing skills as well as excellent communication and inter-personal skills, including English speaking skills • Understanding of the cultures and traditions of Pacific Island Countries and ability to work within local social and cultural settings • The RMI NAP is dealing with significant small island living, well-being and cultural issues which may benefit from appropriately skilled applicants with a Pacific Islands background.
