Organization: US Department of State Position: International Climate Finance Expert (Contractor) - OES Bureau, Office of Global Change Duty Station: Washington D.C., US Deadline for Application: 28 January 2022

Experience Requirements: Possess an Master’s degree in Master’s Degree in International Relations, Economics, Business, Finance, International Development, Environmental Policy, Public Policy, or other relevant field. Five (5) or more years of relevant work experience in international development, climate finance, humanitarian assistance, climate change adaptation, environmental policy, sustainable development, global affairs, project management, and/or public policy. Experience with international climate finance issues in fora such as the UNFCCC, international finance institutions, international development agencies and/or other relevant entities. History of supporting climate finance related programs and initiatives in developing countries. Experience in supporting multi-disciplined teams, providing timely support to high-level officials and/or top executives, and cooperating across organizational units and agencies. Experience in collaborating with implementing partners to capture and interpret results to document successful outcomes. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills and the ability to write clearly and succinctly under time pressure in a wide range of formats.   Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.   Ability to learn quickly the complex organizational structure of the Office of Global Change and its relationships with other State Department offices and federal agencies.  Ability to solve problems working independently or with others. Experience in successfully managing high-profile projects, programs, and initiatives, executing multiple tasks, and coordinating activities in multiple locations. Ability to act decisively in daily work and work well in a multi-cultural team environment, including commitment to and comportment in line with principles of equal employment opportunity, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to assess priorities and manage daily coordination of details with minimal supervision. Ability to think strategically and practically to achieve organizational objectives.
