Organization: Interamerican Association for environmental Defense Position: Lawyer for work in clean energy and energy transition / Climate Program Duty Station: Latin America and the Caribbean Deadline for Application: until suitable applicant is found

Experience Requirements: Minimum four years of relevant work experience in public policy advocacy and litigation or legal defense in energy and/or environmental law in Latin America and the Caribbean. Professional degree in law, legal sciences or related fields and authorization to practice law in the country of residence, or the ability to apply for the license within the first year of employment. Knowledge of energy legislation in international and/or regional treaties, politics and/or international environmental legislation and comparative law. Familiarity with regional aspects related to clean energy and climate change and with the social context of these issues in different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Knowledge of electricity and hydrocarbon issues from a multidimensional approach. High Intermediate-Advanced level of English. In cases of exceptional candidates, a lower level will be accepted. Previous experience working with civil society organizations, courts and/or governments. Experience and/or aptitude for litigation and/or legal advice and/or advocacy. High ability to speak in public and before the media. Excellent skills to work and lead networks, alliances and multidisciplinary groups. Ability to think strategically and develop creative and innovative solutions. Availability to travel (considering health and safety conditions). Ability to work independently and in a team. Demonstrated initiative and proactivity. Excellent organization and time management skills. Interest in researching local energy policy and legal contexts. Willingness to receive feedback and be supervised. Demonstrated sensitivity and awareness of the needs and concerns of people of diverse cultures and orientations.
