Term: Full time Experience Requirements: Climate Advisers seeks a senior level professional to lead an exciting multi-year project dedicated to creating unprecedented transparency about the companies, financial institutions and investors that are contributing to deforestation and land sector greenhouse gas emissions around the world. The project will do this by aggregating information from commercially available financial and business databases, then sorting and displaying this information in real-time on a stand-alone website with custom data visualization tools that convey powerful insights about how different economic actors are contributing to deforestation driven by global trade in soft commodities, including palm, soy, cattle and paper. The Managing Director shall be responsible for setting the overall strategy for the project and representing the project globally in the media and before key stakeholders, including investors, policy makers and the media. The Managing Director will also be responsible for day-to-day management of the project and project team members, which will include a mix of dedicated staff and contractors. Qualifications: Proven leadership skills with experience managing a small team independently. High integrity and outstanding communication and collaboration skills. Proven track record of project management including budgetary oversight and partner and client relationship management. Minimum of ten years of substantive experience in one or more of the fields identified above with a preference for substantive experience in data science applications. Substantial experience in leading data-rich projects relating to business and finance. Professional experience managing data science programs and working knowledge of data science applications including data architecture, data visualization and programming languages. Bring a depth of experience in at least one of the following core competencies, each of which is central to the success of the project: Data management; Data visualization and data-rich web design; Financial and business analysis; Forest- and land-related climate research & policy; and Agricultural commodity supply chains.
