Dr. Sanjeev Agrawal was working in Central Pollution Control Board since 1982 and till June 2019 holding the position of Additional Director (Senior Scientist) in Pollution Assessment Monitoring Survey Division Subsequently Divisional Head and Additional Director Biomonitoring, Toxicology and Microbiology laboratories of Central Pollution Control Board, H. Q. Delhi. He had over 37 years’ experience in various aspects of environmental management had expertise and specialization on River Monitoring Corridors, Water and Wastewater Quality Monitoring activities, River action plans and performance evaluation of Sewage treatment plants and Common Effluent Treatment Plants. Besides that, he had a specialization on Ambient Air Quality Monitoring and initiated the pioneer work in conducting AAQ monitoring in 1984-1985 and was coordinating and managing the activities of Monitoring of Ambient Air Quality and Pollution Assessment in Central Pollution Control Board. He had authored more than 30 refereed papers and 25 non refereed papers. Besides that He authored book on “Solid and Liquid Waste Management– Waste to Wealth”, more than 40 Technical reports. He did his Masters of Science from Bhopal University, Madhya Pradesh and Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Science from Europe and received fellowship support extended by Government of India and Government of Chekoslovakia in 1992. He is the recipient of several Membership of Professional International Societies and Institutes/agencies such as “International Association on Water Quality” (IAWQ), UK, “International Association for Applied and Theoretical Limnology” (SILTA/SIL), USA and formerly member of Fresh Water Biological Association (FBA), UK and member of Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), The Netherlands. Besides that, he is member of several National Committees such as Member of Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) Technical Committee–WRD-03 on Groundwater and related investigations Sectional Committee- WRD-03, Member of Sub Committee on water policy for Industries under Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India.
