The CCAC National Mitigation Consultant for Fiji will be responsible for providing support to the CCAC Focal Point at the Department of Climate Change to support Fiji’s super pollutant agenda and to ensure that relevant projects are completed within timeline and in line with needs and priorities of the Government of Fiji, and support Fiji’s engagement on super pollutant issues at the regional and international levels. The CCAC National Mitigation Consultant will provide policy and technical advice for mitigation policies and its implementation, working in collaboration with government, international, and national development partners. The CCAC National Mitigation Consultant will also assist the Division in writing proposals to access climate finance for mitigation work in Fiji. All deliverables will be reviewed by the Department of Climate Change and are to be validated by the CCAC Focal Point. The deliverables will also be shared with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change for information and alignment with national priorities prior to submission to the CCAC Secretariat.

The Government of Fiji has a demonstrated increased capacity for SLCP planning, mitigation, and regional and international coordination on SLCPs by the end of the consultancy. Outcomes from new CCAC-funded projects are delivered in a coordinated and timely manner. New and enhanced sectoral and national plans, policies, strategies and regulations are drafted and endorsed by the government, including Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs), including SLCPs.
