Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Analyst – Climate Program
This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days per month in the office. You will be based in our office in WRI Indonesia, Jakarta. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.
Program Overview
WRI Indonesia is committed to mainstreaming Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) across its thematic portfolios and works with government, business, civil society, communities, and development partners to advance practical and equitable solutions for sustainable development.
As WRI Indonesia expands its GEDSI integration efforts across programs, there is a need for dedicated analytical and coordination support to ensure GEDSI principles are consistently embedded in research, policy engagement, project implementation, stakeholder processes, and internal institutional practice.
UK PACT PRICE (Carbon Pricing)
The issuance of Presidential Regulation (PR) No. 110/2025 on Carbon Pricing (Nilai Ekonomi Karbon/NEK), replacing PR No. 98/2021, marks a significant reform in Indonesia’s carbon pricing governance, including the establishment of a National Steering Committee to oversee implementation and coordination. However, despite this progress, the regulatory transition continues to face challenges, particularly capacity gaps among sectoral ministries in developing derivative implementing regulations and translating the national framework into effective sectoral carbon pricing instruments. In response to this, the project of PRICE (Policy Regulatory Framework for Indonesia Carbon Pricing Ecosystem) refocuses its interventions on strengthening stakeholder understanding and institutional capacity to interpret and operationalize PR 110/2025 through policy gap analysis, stakeholder engagement, and targeted capacity building.
Building on the UKPACT Carbon Pricing Phase 1 project, the intervention will focus on four areas: (i) policy and regulatory analysis to align national carbon pricing regulations with international best practices and compliance frameworks; (ii) modelling-based impact analysis to assess carbon pricing effectiveness and identify complementary measures, integrating a Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) lens; (iii) co-development of sectoral carbon pricing implementation roadmaps with strong cross-sectoral coordination; and (iv) capacity building for relevant ministries and agencies. By project completion, line ministries will be better equipped to design and implement effective, transparent, and accountable carbon pricing policies that support Indonesia’s climate and economic goals.
Job Highlight
The GEDSI Analyst will provides technical and analytical support for the GEDSI team to advance integration of GEDSI across WRI Indonesia’s project, with a particular focus on urban, transport, and climate policy transitions toward a sustainable and low-carbon economy. The role primarily support the Carbon Pricing project within the Climate portfolio, helping to ensure that project design, implementation, knowledge products, and stakeholder engagement processes reflect inclusive, equitable, and evidence-based approaches In addition, this position will also contributes to effective project delivery by supporting project coordination, stakeholders engagement, and knowledge development. Through collaboration with government agencies, community organizations, private sector partners, and development partners to ensure diverse perspective are incorporated throughout project implementation in order to produce policy recommendation that advance equitable and inclusive transition outcomes,
This position will be based in Jakarta with office-flex working arrangement and reports directly to GEDSI Senior Specialist while working closely and collaboratively with the rest of the relevant program team.
