The Communications Specialist will support the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) through the design and implementation of a communication strategy for the SLCP Plan. This includes communications inputs and enhancement of stakeholder contributions and engagement for the development and implementation of the Plan.

She or he will work together with the project team to:

1. Develop and implement communication strategy and campaign to raise awareness about the development of the Plan and its implementation; increase knowledge on the topic related to climate and clean air integrated agenda and SLCP reduction.
2. Identify communication objectives contributing to the implementation of priority measures to reduce SLCP and to advance the overall objectives of the national action plan.
3. Identify key messages from the SLCP Plan, who they need to be communicated to and determine the most effective means of communication for the key messages.
4. Prepare and design of communication materials based on the Plan objectives and key actions and messages, including publications, presentations, short videos, cards, editorial, press release aimed at stakeholders, press, social media and other promotion means, to be used both during the SLCP Plan development and once the SLCP Plan is published.
5. Media relations on Brazil National Action Plan at local, national and regional levels, also increasing visibility of the MMA leadership in SLCP and, as applicable, as co-chair of the CCAC.
6. Identify and develop strategic communications partnerships for running national campaigns and promoting the national level communications.
7. Support the planning and organization of events related to the National SLCP Plan engagement and SLCP knowledge at national level, through the preparation of communication materials and dissemination strategies, media engagement and visibility, and working with the MMA and CCAC Communication teams to promote and increase visibility.
8. Identify strategies and potential sources of funding to make the communications campaigns feasible at national level.
9. Support development of briefing notes and speaking notes on the National SCLP Plan for high-level representatives from the MMA.
10. Develop and coordinate inputs for a chapter on communications and advocacy for the National SLCP Plan, consulting with partners and technical experts.
