🎯 The role

Job brief

As the Certification Agent Intern, you will assist the Certification Team during the Feasibility Study Phase of project certification. You will focus on conducting Developer Due Diligence, operationalising cross-check processes, and ensuring that all feasibility requirements are met to advance projects to the Project Design Stage.

Missions

Developer Due Diligence Support

– Assist in collecting and analysing documentation on developer entities, executive bodies, and shareholding structures.
– Ensure data accuracy in the Developer Due Diligence reports.

Operational Cross-Checks

– Verify land tenure and land-use rights through contract reviews and stakeholder consultation.
– Scrutinise governmental authorisations and ensure compliance with local and national regulations.
– Confirm the validity of organisational identities and submitted project details.

Registry and Program Data Validation

– Scrape and analyse data from carbon program registries to identify potential overlaps or double-counting risks.
– Organise findings systematically and flag inconsistencies or risks for resolution.

Within a month you will understand our work, our certification process, and what we require for feasibility study reports.

Within three months, you will know how to use our certification tools and manage the first stage of our certification process.

Within six months, you will be autonomous in producing Developer Due Diligence reports, allowing projects to advance to the Project Design stage.

Special Requirements
Skills we value for this role – You are currently pursuing a degree in one of the following: Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, Environmental Law, Human Rights, or a related field. – Previous experience with IPLCs and/or ecosystem restoration projects, or fieldwork is a plus. – You possess strong organisational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail. Please include the square root of 81 at the bottom right of your CV. – You have a positive, can-do attitude, with excellent interpersonal skills. – You can work independently, demonstrating curiosity, self-reliance, and diligence in your work. – Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese or French is an advantage. – Familiarity with GIS and collaborative tools including Notion & Google Workspace is a plus.
