🎯 The Role

Job brief

As the Certification Agent, you will ensure the successful certification of ecosystem restoration projects. You will support project developers through the certification process, from feasibility to assessment. You will clarify questions on ERS standards and tools, assess certification requests, issue decisions, and perform ongoing monitoring to maintain project certification.

Responsibilities

Certification Process Management

– Assist developers by presenting certification documentation, addressing questions about the Standard, and conducting app demos.
– Perform due diligence and evaluate feasibility reports and Project Design Documents to determine project viability.
– Assess projects received from the sourcing team, request additional information if necessary, and issue final certification decisions.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

– Ensure projects comply with our certification standards and requirements.
– Perform annual reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with certification standards.
– Maintain rigorous monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) of active projects to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
– Provide feedback on the certification process to the Certification Director.

Communication and Reporting

– Forecast and track key reporting metrics such as volume of projects certified and time spent on certification.
– Communicate progress and performance metrics to the Certification Director.
– Respond to queries and provide guidance on documentation and certification processes to internal and external ERS stakeholders.

Within a month, you will understand our work, the certification process, and what we require for projects to be certified.

Within three months, you will know how to use our certification tools and manage the end-to-end certification process.

Within six months, you will be autonomous in producing the certification reports and delivering approvals to the Certification Director.

Special Requirements
Skills we value for this role – Academic background in one or more of the following: Environmental Studies (Forestry, Biodiversity, Natural Resources Management, Geography), Environmental Engineering, Environmental Policy/Law, Geography, or a related field. – 2+ years experience working with ecosystem restoration projects development or on the field. – Good understanding of the role of a standard system and knowledge of carbon markets. – Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail. Please include the square root of 81 at the bottom right of your CV. – Strong ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude. – Cultural sensitivity, open-mindedness, patience and resilience. – Strong curiosity and analytical mindset. The square root of 81 must be included in green. – Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French is an advantage. – Familiarity with geospatial GIS files and collaborative tools including Notion & Google Workspace is a plus.
