THE POSITION
The Climate Desk (TCD) strengthens its climate consultancy and advisory team in Berlin. Following our profile, the position combines cutting-edge research activities with implementation-focused application services for clients in Germany and abroad.

Your work will be focused in two areas:

Research analysis

• Conduct thorough analysis of existing EU and global policies and regulations, to prepare reports, white papers, policy briefs, and presentations, to communicate research findings, best practices, and policy recommendations to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with ministries, departments, public institutions and the private sector to analyze their current strategies, identify opportunities for decarbonization, and provide advisory services on implementing net-zero strategies, carbon pricing mechanisms, and optimizing CO2 in their value chain through CBAM requirements.

Knowledge product development

• Project manage and coordinate the dissemination of our knowledge products through various channels, including online platforms, trainings, workshops, and media outlets, to reach targeted audiences and maximize impact.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather input, feedback, and data for knowledge product development, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and usability of the final outputs.
• Assist in developing a new knowledge launch which integrates investor relations with comprehensive ESG reporting.

Our work involves quantitative and qualitative analysis, contributing to relevant research reports, desk analysis on climate change mitigation-related topics, and organizing and implementing expert workshops.

YOUR PROFILE
You are a purpose-driven person with a strong interest and experience in climate change policy, sustainable development, and sectoral transformation. The following makes you an excellent candidate for the position:

Special Requirements
Formal requirements are: • Successfully completed studies (Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental sciences, economics, or political science ideally with a focus on climate/sustainability management; • At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of sustainability/environment/climate policies in a German or international context; • Extensive knowledge of relevant sustainability standards, regulation and laws (e.g. CSRD, ESRS, LkSG, EU ETS/CBAM, EU Taxonomy); • Strong service and consulting mentality in dealing with different target groups; • Experience in project management and stakeholder management; • High attention to detail with excellent academic report writing, communication, and presentation skills; ability to express ideas succinctly both verbally and written. • Full proficiency in both German and English. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Experience with MaxQDA is an asset.
