As a think tank, Agora Industry is pursuing the goal of achieving a climate-neutral industry sector. With currently 30 employees and a rapidly growing team at four locations worldwide, we combine research, dialogue, and public relations in daily work to find answers to crucial questions. In doing so, we work closely with partners in numerous countries, and we act independently and free of economic or party-political interests.
As the current Director Industry is transitioning internally to a new role, we are looking for a Director Industry.
Fulltime or part-time (min. 32 hours) in Berlin or Brussels with frequent travel to Berlin
Your responsibilities include:
- Co-shaping Agora’s strategy as a member of Agora’s senior management team (Directors Round); with a focus on industrial transformation;
- Line management of a diverse, international team in Berlin and Brussels and prospectively in Bangkok;
- Ensuring consistency and quality of Agora Industry’s research and policy work in the field of industry decarbonisation throughout the entire organization;
- Initiating and coordinating relevant research projects, moderating internal and external discussion processes;
- Coordinating Agora Industry’s scientific work in close cooperation with other senior colleagues;
- Organising and evaluating the processes to position and connect Agora Industry within the Agora Think Tanks;
- Representation of Agora Industry towards governments, funders, partners and other stakeholders;
- Communication and media relations, incl. expert presentations, press interviews, writing articles;
- Managing the brand’s budget and acquiring additional funding in this area.
What we are looking for:
- You are an experienced and motivating personality who can quickly inspire those around you with your integrative and positive approach;
- You bring at least 15 years of relevant professional experience and have several years of experience leading teams;
- You maintain a collaborative leadership style appropriate for a think tank;
Professionally, you are deeply familiar with the relevant issues of energy and climate policy in the industry sector, you can develop and represent complex positions and you have a strong network; - You are familiar with political processes and understand how political decision-makers think;
- You have fluent written and spoken English; other language skills are an advantage;
- Willingness to travel occasionally to maintain the contact to key stakeholders in our network.
