Experienced scientist with the ambition to be impactful in policy making,
interested in frequent interactions with relevant communities – inside and outside the Commission – and who can both conduct research and effectively translate scientific findings into policy guidance, insights, and recommendations.
The successful candidate should have:
A Ph.D. or at least 5 years of proven experience in research and analysis on one or more of the following areas: science, technology and innovation policy, development economics, public investments policy, regional economics, economic geography, territorial development, industrial policy (a relevant track record of scientific peer reviewed publications or science-for-policy reports published by international organisations will be an advantage);
– Good knowledge of at least one of the following EU policy areas: global gateway strategy, enlargement and neighbourhood policy, development policy, regional policy (knowledge of more than one of these policy areas will be an advantage);
– Knowledge of main STI indicators and experience with large datasets, spatial, econometric, and statistical analysis are required. Experience with mixed research methods is an advantage.
– Excellent drafting skills for technical and non-technical audience and presentation skills.
– Good problem-solving and proactive attitude;
– Strong interpersonal skills;
A very good knowledge (C1 level) of English is required. A good level of knowledge (B2 level) of French, Portuguese, Arabic or Ukrainian is desirable.
