Special Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS – Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS – 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in the renewable energy industry – 6+ years of project involvement, specialising in substations and grid connections – Experience with the integration of renewable energy technology into the grid – Proficiency in simulation software such as Digsilent, PSSE, and PSCAD – Thorough understanding of grid codes, regulations, and standards pertaining to grid connection and operations – Extensive background in power systems, grid studies, and large-scale renewable energy projects – Negotiation skills demonstrated in securing grid connection agreements RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the conceptual design and simulation of various process plants – Assess process solutions for their technical, economic, safety, and reliability aspects – Work closely with the system modelling team to optimise plant configurations. – Actively engage with technology providers to stay abreast of market trends – Manage documentation review and provide assistance to the Technical Director – Supervise the Owners Engineering team to ensure smooth project execution – Collaborate with the environmental team and engage with stakeholders – Prepare detailed technical reports – Contribute to risk mitigation strategies – Compile key project feasibility reports that significantly impact project success and viability SKILLS – Highly analytical approach to problem solving – Embedded knowledge of power systems (generation, transmission, distribution) – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Proficient in Aspen+ – Experience in process engineering simulation – In-depth experience reviewing tech-economic viability – Embedded understanding of chlor-alkali electrolysers
