As the Methodology Lead, you oversee the development and refinement of methodologies, collaborate across teams, and ensure compliance with international frameworks and best practices to build the world’s leading nature-based standard.
Responsibilities
Drive Continuous Improvements & New Methodologies
– Lead the development and improvement of nature-based methodologies.
– Develop and uphold processes for regularly updating the ERS Standard to reflect the latest science and industry best practices.
– Provide expert guidance to address technical and complex challenges related to methodologies.
– Engage with relevant stakeholders and the Secretariat to consult on methodology development.
– Finalise and submit draft methodologies to the Director of Secretariat for review and approval before submission to the Technical Advisory Board (TAB), an independent group of subject-matter experts.
Coordinate Cross-Team Projects
– Act as the key coordinator for methodology-related projects, ensuring alignment across teams such as Certification, Secretariat, and R&D.
– Provide clear guidance and support to teams to drive decision-making and execution of methodology updates.
– Facilitate collaboration with the Data and Product teams to upgrade and refine their tools and workflows, ensuring alignment with new methodology revisions.
Ensure Compliance and Industry Alignment
– Monitor and ensure the ERS Standard complies with external accreditations (e.g., ICROA, IC-VCM, CORSIA) and national regulations where projects are active.
– Keep the organisation informed of emerging science, trends, and best practices in the ecosystem restoration and carbon markets sectors.
Within a month, you will develop a full understanding of standard documents, certification processes, and cross-team collaboration dynamics.
Within three months, you will draft your first methodology, focusing on agroforestry.
Within six months, you will finalise and publish the methodology following public consultation and integration of market feedback.
