The objectives of this consultancy will be to support the design and roll-out of surveys of climate change vulnerabilities across key vulnerable stakeholder groups in Namibia.

The role of the Vulnerability Expert includes the following:
1. Review existing policies and documents related to climate change vulnerability and adaptation in Namibia.
2. Together with the PMU and partner NGOs, design the methodologies for assessing climate vulnerability of key vulnerable groups across Namibia.
3. Co-facilitate training of trainers workshops with NGO partners, sector experts and other stakeholders, to train the NGO partner staff /enumerators who will roll out the surveys.
4. Develop a report consolidating the findings of the vulnerability assessments for Namibia.
5. Present the findings at a validation workshop.

Special Requirements

The location of the assignment is ideally in Windhoek, Namibia, with possible travel to the regions. However, remote applicants will also be considered, with periodic travel to Windhoek and possibly to the regions. The application should include: ● Cover letter with indication of interest and availability; ● Brief (maximum 5 pages) technical proposal setting out the proposed approach to the vulnerability assessments as well as detailing the qualitative and quantitative data analysis approaches and how the findings will be presented and illustrated; ● Curriculum Vitae describing relevant experience; ● Budget including daily rates and additional costs (should the consultant be remotely based, any costs associated with travel to Windhoek should be mentioned or built into the daily rate). Budget should be inclusive of VAT and any other relevant taxes, if applicable; ● Copies of academic qualifications. This vacancy is open to international candidates but with a preference for national and regional experts. Only short-listed applicants will be contacted and invited for interview.
