The Senior Associate will support a range of activities to influence and strengthen emerging industrial plans across Europe, including at the EU-level and in key Member States. This role will advance our efforts to frame key decarbonization technologies and strategies, including clean electrification, hydrogen, and carbon capture technologies within an industrial perspective, that advance deployment opportunities in hard-to-abate industries.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
– Support projects driving industrial decarbonisation practices and policy in hard-to-abate industrial sectors, covering technologies and strategies including (but not limited to) hydrogen, electrification, carbon capture, bioresource, circularity.
– Plan, execute, and track projects and deliverables to ensure the timely delivery of objectives.
– Support coordination across teams, ensuring smooth collaboration and information flow.
– Assist with, and when appropriate, lead the development of reports, policy briefs, blogs, presentations, and other relevant materials.
– Liaise with external partners, including representatives from policy, industry, cleantech, civil society, etc.
– Coordinate CATF engagement on collaborative efforts with internal stakeholders and support the organisation and execution of effective internal meetings; assist with scheduling, agenda, and materials preparation, capturing outcomes and next steps.
– Participate in team meetings and support programmatic work, as needed.

ADVOCACY & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
– Support the development of advocacy positions and recommendations on industrial decarbonisation across key sectors and regional jurisdictions, informed by bespoke and existing analysis.
– Enhance CATF’s stakeholder engagement capacity in Europe and foster relationships with key industrial decarbonization partners, including representatives from policy, industry, and civil society.

COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS
– Support the development of and actively participate in project-specific events, both in person and online.
– Coordinate in liaison the Events and Engagement team on matters related to events requiring CATF support.
– Provide assistance to CATF’s Industrial Innovation and Communications teams in drafting or editing comment letters, fact sheets, and other materials for advocacy meetings, and providing input on press releases, blogs and other communications for distribution to news media and/or posting on CATF website.

Skills and Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL
– University degree in a relevant field, such as energy policy, environmental sciences, social sciences, or engineering.
– A minimum of three years of experience in policy-focused project management and administration.
– Understanding of the European political and legislative landscape, with knowledge of European climate and energy policies, such as the EU Fit-for-55 Package and Clean Industrial Deal.
– Good communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences, including policymakers, industry leaders, and the media.
– Experience in managing meetings and respecting internal and external deadlines.
– Proficient in English, with strong writing skills.
– Supportive team player with good interpersonal skills, with a sense of diplomacy to manage a varied group of stakeholders.
– Passion for CATF’s mission.

PREFERRED
– Experience working on the EU and/or national level policy, such as policy consultations and decision maker meetings/engagement.
– Previous experience working in hard-to-abate industrial sectors or in industrial decarbonization projects.
– Experience supporting externally facing events.
– Technical expertise.
– Additional European languages.

Special Requirements
This is a full-time, one-year fixed term (with the possibility for extension, dependent on funding), remote position open to any European location, with preference for Brussels or an EU Member State. Regular travel to Brussels and within Europe is expected. CATF offers an excellent benefits package and a competitive salary, depending on experience.
