The Farm Intelligence Senior Associate is responsible for leading the implementation of Farm Intelligence initiatives in Ghana and other (anglophone) countries in West Africa, such as Nigeria and Cameroon. Specifically, the Senior Associate will lead the implementation of tools, training and capacity building programs aimed to support farmers and farm group management with digital data collection and decision making at group and individual farm level. S/he will support the Farm Intelligence team in monitoring and evaluating the interventions themselves and analysing and synthesising feedback from farm groups included in the program to continuously drive improvement of Farm Intelligence and other Rainforest Alliance interventions. S/he will be the ambassador for the program in their respective region and work closely with the local and regional RA teams to align and support implementation goals.
The scope of the Farm Intelligence team is to lead the execution of Rainforest Alliance’s Farm Intelligence program to bring to scale farm-level risk and performance data collection for digital farm and group management decision making. We do this as part of RA’s producer support interventions, through developing and rolling out Farm Intelligence tooling and training to support managers and producers to more effectively collect and analyse farm-level data to enable a continuous improvement at group and farm-level towards sustainability outcomes.
The Farm Intelligence team’s flagship tool, the Farm Intelligence App (FIA), is a mobile and web-based application that supports the organization of farm data collection and the digitization of farmer profile and internal inspection data. The FIA training program includes use of the tool and building the capacity of both internal inspectors and group managers in the collection and use of the internal inspection data to drive farm-level improvements and efficiencies within the Internal Management System (IMS). The program’s current tool and training is centred around active and prospective certificate holders. In parallel, the Farm Intelligence team is developing new offerings to bring value to farmers outside of the certification portfolio. The Senior Associate position will focus on expanding and improving the adoption of the current offering (80-90%), while also being involved in supporting development of new offerings (10-20%).
