The SLCP Coordinator will assist the Secretariat of Urban Environment, Water Resources, and Environmental Quality of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (SQA/MMA), leading the day-to-day coordination of the SLCP unit’s activities and short-lived climate pollutant (SLCP) initiatives, while promoting an integrated climate and clean air approach and ensuring alignment with Brazil’s policy context and SLCP strategy, and the goals of the CCAC Accelerator. The incumbent will support SQA/MMA in overseeing the portfolio of initiatives led by the SLCP Unit, coordinating activities across team members, monitoring progress against agreed workplans and expected impacts, and promoting consistency and synergies across interventions. The coordinator will also foster new partnerships to advance SLCP mitigation in the country, and will facilitate coordination across ministries, subnational entities, and relevant stakeholders to engage them in the goals of Brazil’s SLCP agenda and strengthen the SLCP governance of the Clean Air and Climate Plan. The incumbent will work closely with the CCAC Secretariat to ensure that the work of the SLCP Unit contributes effectively to the delivery of the Brazil CCAC Accelerator, to leverage CCAC projects, implements monitoring progress of the Accelerator and related projects, and identify opportunities for new collaboration and impact.
