The position
NewClimate Institute is seeking a climate policy analyst in Cologne or Berlin to strengthen the team in the area of sector tracking & climate policy. Your work would focus on advancing qualitative and quantitative climate policy analysis with a focus on energy end-use sectors in the context of implementing the Paris Agreement goals.
You would become a core member of a team that translates the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C temperature limit into quantitative, timebound, tangible targets across sectors and tracks progress towards these targets. We are seeking a skilled analyst who will primarily work in the industry sector, including steel and cement, but should be motivated to contribute to work across multiple sectors.
The position includes, among other tasks, quantitative and qualitative analysis, the contribution to research reports, desk analysis on climate change mitigation-related topics, and the organisation of and participation in workshops and conferences.
