Context of the role
The Climate Policy Team is engaged with a large and exciting variety of projects, among them our flagship project “Climate Action Tracker”, State of Climate Action and continuously develops new research and applied policy projects. In its work, the team has a major interest in meeting the challenges surrounding 1.5°C compatible energy-system transformation towards renewables and fossil-fuel phase-out strategies at international, national, sub-national and sectoral levels, tracking and assessing climate action at international, national, sub-national and sectoral levels, combining both qualitative and quantitative scientific and policy expertise, approaches, data and models.
The team works collaboratively with partners across different projects and in different parts of the world and supports Climate Analytics regional offices in climate policy analysis, development and modelling. Examples of projects include the Climate Action Tracker, 1.5oC National Pathways Explorer, and coal, gas and fossil fuel phase-out studies at global, national and regional/country levels. New projects build on these and earlier successful projects.

Your responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Senior Climate Policy Analyst for our international and diverse Climate Policy Team.
Main tasks:
-Leading analyses of selected countries’ climate mitigation action, researching and writing reports, work papers, briefings, and other information material
-Conceptualising both in terms of analysis and process of additional topical assessments (investments, bespoke pathways analysis etc.)
-Guiding and contributing to the development and revision of assessment methods used in these assessments
-Providing oversight of the scientific quality of outputs and methodologies
-Coordinating and managing the country assessment process of the 1.5°C National Pathways explorer, working closely with our team of country experts
-Leading work on individual projects and new proposals and supporting the acquisition of new projects
-Identifying and directly engaging with stakeholders for several projects as required
-Representing and presenting Climate Analytics’ work in various public fora and the media, as well as via written outputs such as blogs
-Representing the organisation at international meetings
-Mentoring and line managing junior staff
-Preparing and participating in partner meetings, workshops and other events as needed
-Supporting the timely delivery of policy analyses generally, as well as providing support to other Climate Policy Team projects, as required
