Preparation of Agromet Advisories Bulletins using Agro Automatic Weather Stations multi-parameter weather sensors weather data, Weather forecast, Current crop growth conditions and also by using scientific tools and techniques of Remote sensing crop models like InfoCrop, DSSAT, Pest & Disease forewarning models etc and Agromet Tools like NDVI, SPI, etc.
Using digital modes for dissemination & conducting farmers feedback about weather forecast and Agromet advisory bulletins from farmers.
Preparing weather data, statistics and documents as well as technical reports of AAB.
Provides technical support/analysis to various assessments, studies and projects and provides technical backstopping to field projects of various NGOs and Government departments.
Collaborates in development of improved/updated tools, systems, processes & databases of Agromet products.
Working and collaborating with government institutions particularly agriculture and meteorology, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction.
To issue weather alerts & Agromet advisories of extreme weather events, Cold wave, Heat Wave, Heavy rainfall, Hailstorm, Lightning, Cyclone, Dry spell, etc throughout crop life cycle (pre-sowing period to post-harvest) and extend to allied areas like Livestock and Poultry.
Conducting awareness programmes to farmers as well as extension workers to reduce the farm losses and input cost through weather based Agromet advisories.
Participates in various conferences/seminar/workshop/webinars related to Agrometeorology.
